A pottery class where art meets function — design and hand craft pottery that you can cook and serve with, from stovetop to table.

Inspired by her upbringing in Japan, Monique will share her favorite simple Japanese recipes and the tradition of cooking with a donabe (clay hot pot.) Using a special clay formulated to withstand open flame, ovens, and electric stoves this class blends handbuilding and wheel throwing with conversations around food, design ,and the intersection of craft and culture.

Whether you’re a maker, designer, or food lover this is a tactile, creative space to unplug, get your hands dirty, and walk away with something beautiful and function. Let’s make something special that you’ll love to use, again and again.

Students will receive 25lbs of flameware clay as part of this class, which is normally $150 per bag.
