Just in time for the holiday season, learn how to make the perfect gift: beautiful hand-thrown mugs that feel just right in your hands. In this class, you’ll learn how to throw and construct mugs by thinking through and designing for ergonomics, weight, size, texture, and style. You’ll learn how to throw body shapes with thoughtful angles and curves with consideration for your personal style.

We’ll then do a deep dive into handles: you’ll learn several techniques for making handles, designing shapes to account for weight and force, integrating unique handle designs into the overall mug design, and attaching handles and troubleshooting cracks. Finally, we’ll dive into decoration and glazing that plays into your style and creative strengths.

This class is aimed at students who have taken at least one wheel classes before. This builds off of beginner centering skills.
