Handbuilding teaches how to make functional pottery without using the wheel. Classes lead students through using molds, applying colored slip, carving and marbling. Students will make an array of pieces from mugs to planters, and from trays to bowls. Students will learn to apply color in four ways: colored clay, colored slip, underglazes, and glazing. Handbuilding is a more artistic and relaxed practice than the wheel. $400.
